I remember working for a company that handled class action lawsuits for the Western Union Company. I spoke to numerous individuals who were distraught as they told me of their experience sending their entire life's savings to someone they'd never even met. I asked them, "What compelled you to do this?!" All of them said something along the lines of, "I was lonely." "He said he loved me." or "She said she would come visit me in America." Many people would call these people foolish, but they aren't. They were starved for human connection.
"You deserve to have a person you can speak with who genuinely is interested in connecting with you."
I completely get why so many people are turning to AI for companionship. You can train the model to respond to you exactly the way you want. && the AI will always be there. Heck, nowadays, the "AI" can even send people naughty images and videos (which aren't offered in my services, btw). Honestly, I get why some people turn to ai girlfriends, and ai boyfriends, truly, I do.
But, there are people who are still yearning for a real human connection. && for whatever reason, they haven't been successful in finding that connection with a person in 'real life'. If I'm being honest with you, I'm a woman who also tends to ignore the advances that people make towards me in person. && I also know the value of human companionship. This is why I've decided to become more social in a safe, humanistic, consistent, and clear way.
